National Personal Assistant Day – 13 November 2025

National Personal Assistant Day takes place on Thursday 13 November 2025, recognising the invaluable contribution of Personal Assistants (PAs) who support people to live independently, safely and with dignity.

PAs step into many roles each day – quite literally wearing many hats – to ensure those they support can live with independence, empowerment and choice.

To mark the day, Sheffield City Council is encouraging everyone to join the “Wear a Hat for PA Day” campaign. The initiative invites people across the UK to show appreciation for the PA workforce by proudly wearing a hat, sharing a photo on social media, and celebrating the vital support PAs provide in their communities.

Participants are encouraged to share their hat photos using the hashtags #NationalPADay, #EmployPAs, #PASummit, and #PAandProud.

Those who wish to take part in Sheffield’s photo competition can email their picture to EmployPAs@sheffield.gov.uk for a chance to win an exclusive print or gift voucher. The winning entry will be drawn on National Personal Assistant Day itself.

While the campaign has been launched by Sheffield City Council, the celebration is open to everyone – a chance to come together nationally and recognise the dedication, compassion and everyday impact of Personal Assistants across the UK.
